Cis forCoo

Cooing is the noise a dove or pigeon makes. It is also the noises people make when they are fussing over a baby or a romantic partner.
A crash is a loud noise, usually made when something hits something else. You might drop saucepans to the floor with a crash. Cars can crash into things. The photo is of a wave crashing into the shore.

Cis forCroak

Croak is the noise a frog or toad makes. Sometimes people say "ribbit" instead of croak. Frogs make noise by passing air through a vocal sac, but by puffing out the skin on their throats they can make their croak so loud that some types of frog can be heard up to a mile away.

A crunch is a crackling noise that some things make as you break it. If you step on loose snow it will crunch under your feet. Many breakfast cereals make a crunch noise as you eat them.

A ding is a short, sharp, ringing sound, usually made by a bell.

Eis forEcho

An echo is reflected sound. You get echos most often in enclosed spaces with hard walls, like an empty room with wooden floors, or the inside of a large concrete pipe like in the picture. If you make a noise in a place like this, the noise you make sounds like it is being repeated back at you again and again, getting quieter each time.

Fizz is the sound of many tiny bubbles, which makes a hissing sound.

A groan is a low sound you make when you are sad or in pain.

Gis forGrowl

A growl is a deep, grating noise made by many animals as a warning. Animals will growl to scare you away if they are angry or scared.

A hiss is a sharp noise made by animals like cats, snakes and geese when they are angry. Air escaping at high speed from a small hole can also make a hissing noise, for example when you fill your tyres with air, you often hear hissing sounds.
